Autism Support

Autism Questions and Support

Sheffield Adult Autism & ADHD Hub 

 

From June 1st 2026, the Autism and ADHD Support (AASH) Hub, based at Sheffield Mind, will provide free, non-clinical support, advice, and information for people aged 16 and over in Sheffield. This includes individuals who are autistic and/or have ADHD—whether diagnosed, awaiting assessment, or self-identifying—as well as their carers. 

 

What can people expect? 

The Hub offers a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment where patients can choose how they receive support, whether through group sessions, face-to-face meetings, phone calls, emails, or video calls. 

 

Calls and emails are monitored during opening hours, so patients and professionals can leave a message or send an email at any time, and staff will respond during Hub opening hours. 

 

What support is available? 

  • Information about autism and ADHD diagnoses 

  • Guidance on the diagnostic process 

  • Mental health advice and signposting to other services 

  • Confidence-building support 

  • Information on local services and resources in Sheffield 

  • Updates on social activities in the area 

  • Employment support 

  • Family support 

  • Peer support opportunities 

 

How to access support 

Patients can book an appointment with a staff member for up to 30 minutes, available by phone, face-to-face, or online. Alternatively, they can drop in and speak to someone directly. 

The Hub also offers regular group sessions, which patients can book in advance. Thes groups vary throughout the year but will include issues such as soft employability skills, confidence building and relaxation.

Please ensure you allow plenty of time to receive your full course of travel vaccinations. We are unable to accomodate last minute requests for travel vaccines.
