New appointment system coming 17th April 2024

We are changing the way we help patients with queries.

We know that it can be difficult to access medical help and we've listened to what our patients and colleagues want - a fairer system.

Why we are changing

We want a fairer system for everyone and to improve access to our services. It will give you more flexibility and choice.

How it works

Everyone contacting us needs to provide some information on the reasons for contact and this is looked at by a doctor (known as triage) before an appointment is made regardless of whether you feel the matter is urgent or routine. Once you’ve made your query, you may be sent some additional questions to answer about your condition. A doctor will review the information you've provided and decide the best outcome – this may be self-care advice, a prescription, or an appointment with the best member of our team to help you – this may not be a doctor.

In addition to our doctors, we have a range of qualified experts available to help – Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Community Pharmacists, Health Care Assistants, Mental Health Practitioners, Nurses, Physician Associates and Physiotherapists, .

What if I can't use an online link?

Those who cannot access the internet will always be able to phone us or visit us – our team will be happy to complete the online form for you.  All the answers are still dealt with by a doctor so you do not gain or lose priority by contacting us this way.

What is the new system called?

We will be using a system called Accurx Total Triage. For more information about Accurx Total Triage click here

Home Visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your clinician will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the clinician to schedule house calls

Cancellations & Reminders

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform us if you are unable to attend your appointment as this will allow the appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a text message informing you that you did not attend your appointment and a note of this will be kept on your medical records. Patients who regularly do not attend their appointments and fail to cancel their appointment will be removed from the list. Please call the Practice to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.
